About Robyn

Robyn Hawley, Ed.D., LCSW
I am a clinical social worker licensed to practice in the states of
  • Connecticut
  • Florida
  • Minnesota
  • North Carolina
  • South Carolina.
I work with people who are struggling by providing a safe space to talk about, and work through, their issues. I partner with clients to help them identify their strengths, build hope, and learn how to use their strengths to make changes and be successful. For those who are interested, I also like to incorporate religion and spirituality into the work. Faith can be a significant resource that we can use to help us navigate through difficult times and know that we are not alone.

My Approach to Counseling

Congratulations on taking the first step toward feeling better! I applaud your courage in seeking help! Many people experience the process of finding a therapist a bit (or a lot) scary. I am honored that you chose to check out information about me.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been in the field for 30 years working with people of all ages and facing all kinds of challenges. Many of my clients over the years have struggled with depression, anxiety, stress, parenting challenges, trauma, life transitions, grief, relationship issues, as well as many other difficulties. I approach therapy with a warm, non-judgmental and caring attitude and work diligently to develop a positive working relationship with clients because that is essential for successful therapy. I strongly believe that my role is to empower you so you can reach your goals. Depending upon your needs and preferences, I use a variety of strategies such as Person-Centered, Solution-Focused, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and others, all with a trauma-informed lens.

My Education and Experience

I earned my Master of Social Work degree at the University of Connecticut. I earned my Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Behavioral Health from Grand Canyon University. I have over 30 years of experience providing services, managing programs and directing mental health clinics.

In addition to working directly with clients, I love to mentor new social workers into the profession. I do that as an adjunct faculty member teaching Master of Social Work students at several universities. I also provide clinical supervision for those who are recent graduates in Connecticut & Florida who need supervision as they prepare to become licensed.

A Bit About Me Personally

I am married, have two grown sons who are married, and have three wonderful grandsons! I live with my husband, golden retriever and cat. I am a Christian. I love to spend time with family, read, play Sudoku, and go on cruises!

“Robyn made it easy for me to open up about my life’s challenges and helped me to see my behavioral commonalities across multiple situations. Her approach in helping me identify and practice solutions helped me to build confidence in addressing future situations. Easy to trust and excellent recall on various topics. I’d call on Robyn again if I need help navigating a personal challenge." ~Liz
